forum The Web Squeeze Interview
Name of your website?

The Web Squeeze

Your name?

Linda Chadbourne

Your Location (city, etc)

We are a global web forum

Please give us a short summary of your website?

Our website is a web design and web development help forum for web designers of all skill levels. We also provide articles and tutorials on all aspects of web designing which are intended to teach and inform. We have an extremely friendly environment for web designers from beginners to advanced. You can find almost any topic from html to php, web hosting, domains, SEO, graphics, blogging, javascript, coldfusion, and much more.

What inspired you to launch your own website?

Four professional web designers with an interest in helping others, was what prompted us to start this website. We had all visited other forums and felt that all too often they were not very inviting or did not provide enough information. Often if you had a question, you would have to wait days or weeks to get a response if one was ever provided. Our forum is staffed with so many professionals that questions are answered quickly and no question goes unanswered. Our goal is to become the #1 resource site for web designers and developers and we are working hard every day to reach that goal.

When did you launch this website?

This website was launched in February 2008! However each of the co-founders have been web design or development professionals for years. With a total of 30 years of experience between us we are seasoned!

How did you decide on a name for your website?

The Web Squeeze was selected because we wanted a name that was catchy and not too serious that we could play off of and that would be memorable. Since we discuss all things related to web design, and squeeze every drop of web design information out, The Web Squeeze made sense and was fun!

What makes it different from other, similar offerings?

We are free and do not require any type of membership fees to reap all the benefits. Also our staff/members and the quality of the information provided are of the highest quality. Our forum also has a section we call "Manage Your Business" which helps all new web designers start up their own business and even a section about "dealing with clients".

What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)

To be a top resource for Web Professionals interested in the field of design and development.

How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?

Since we are a new website, we realize the time and money we are investing is normal and will serve us well in the future. Our measure of success is simply to increase our member base.

If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?

An unlimited budget would probably allow us to advertise more.

If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?

Definitely! We have the staff in place as well as resources needed.

What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?

Finding a reliable host has probably been the biggest headache so far. Although still very minor.

What has been your biggest challenge?

Since our site is so new, our biggest challenge so far is moving up the ranks of Google. We have spent a lot of time on the SEO of our site and with increasing our content daily, we feel confident Google will love us!

How has running your website differed from your expectations?

I think running the site has been more exciting than any of expected. We had considerable experience running another web design forum so nothing so far has surprised us about the day to day aspects. But the satisfaction we have received that this site is ours makes the biggest difference.

How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?

We are closing in on 2 months since we opened and have no plans to close. Closing has never been discussed and we are thinking only positive thoughts.

What is your market?

We are a global with members from the US, Canada, UK, Austraila and Asia.

What is your website address?
