When did you start your website and why?
I started last year in December (2006) to promote my web hosting and web design business.
Please give us a short summary of your website, business model, etc
My web site contains information about the different hosting plans I provide and has a place where customers can subscribe to benefit the services. It also has a section for my web design section and has information on how customers have to proceed to enjoy these services. The rest illustrates what product is being provided to them and talk a bit about our company.
What has been the most difficult part of creating and running your website?
The hardest part was to create field checks for the form fields in php, in particular the email field.
What has been the easist part of operating your website?
The easiest part was to create the html pages as it was harder to work with scripts like php.
What was your biggest mistake?
At first we started without using css style. It was just to make our mind work and we found that what was created suited our needs. This was the mistake, we had to shift the created material to css styling. It was not really hard but rather boring and long.
Who maintains your website and why?
Our own team maintains its because its cost effective and we do it with application as its our own stuff.
Tell us how your business has benefitted from your website?
Since my business is web based, a website is not an option but rather an obligation.
What are your views on ecommerce and the future of the internet?
In a near future everything will shift to e commerce. If you know what you are doing and know who to trust, its hard to get jacked. According to me its safe enough and facilitates greatly our lives.
What are your views on Search Engines? Have they helped or hindered your website?
They would have been efficient if they were not so money minded. If you dont have money, your link will never be in the top 25, unless you search keywords that are related to your website only.
What method has been most successful for promoting your website?
Posting in directories like this. It helps to improve search engines rank and people who come here knows what they are looking for exactly.
What method has been least successful for promoting your website?
Mouth to mouth as it affects only a little amount of persons and everybody is not interested in what we do.
What would you like to see change with respect to the internet?
The way emails are identified as spams or not. It is done in a non fair way and non logical. Improvements must be done in this field.
