Name of your website?

Spyder Lake Web Design

Your name?

Terry Forestell

Your Location (city, etc)

Orange Virginia

What is your website about.

We do web design and print advertising development. Our focus is on user friendly web design for small business.

What inspired you to launch your own website?

I don't think you can have a web development operation without a website. Besides, these days, if you don't have a website there is some question about whether you are in business or not.

When did you launch your first website, and what was it?

My first website development was created in 1997 and as I was working on DoD sites at the time it was visible to no one outside the Department of Defense. I also had a personal website that posted some historical photographs of Scarborough England that I printed from some glass plate negatives that I received from my in laws who were natives of Yorkshire England.

How did you decide on a name for your website?

Spyder Lake Farm is where we reside. It is a 200+ acre horse farm outside the town of Orange, VA. Some of our work is performed there, some at the office in town. Anything requiring lots of internet bandwidth happens in town.

What makes it different from other, similar offerings?

We are here, we are local, we listen to our clients and build websites that work for their business. Most web developers do this to some extent, but we make sure that the work we do reflects the client's vision first and technology second and our egos last.

What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)

We hope to help as many small businesses as possible build a useful web presence.

How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?

We are totally committed to building a vibrant business and are investing significant time and money into providing the best service possible.

If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?

We would probably advertise more.

If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?

We are not selling products on out site, just advertising our services. If business demands exceeded our capacity to produce quality results we would either limit the clients we work with or more likely employ others to keep up with the need.

What is your website address?
