What inspired you to launch your own website?

Starting my own web development and design business.

When did you launch your first website, and what was it?

2003, evolith.net, while in my first year as professional web developer i bought the domain and played around with it, testing various things along the way. The name is a combination of evolve and eolith(stone age tool) with the idea being tools evolving and the web or something.

How did you decide on a name for your website?

What makes it different from other, similar offerings?

Webdev4u offers customised web development and design, hosting and seo all in one specialised service from which the client can acquire a website suited to their business needs and goals.

What is your recurring goal?

Reaching new clients

How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?

As a web developer the costs in designing, developing my own site is minimal when seen as business startup capital.

In which countries and areas do you provide this service?

Webdev4u is situated in Johannesburg, South Africa, and the service is concentrated but in no way limited to Gauteng.

If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?

As a reseller upgrading the hosting package is only a few clicks away.

What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?

None to date.

What has been your biggest challenge?

Search engine optimisation.

What method has been most successful for promoting your website?

SEO.

How has running your website differed from your expectations?

So far performing above expectations, still in infancy really.

How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?

Since November 2007, aim is to keep running until it runs out of steam.

What was the biggest site(by budget) you have developed?

While employed as web developer for Netgen, Randburg, I developed an Intranet for Mango Airlines, with a budget befitting of such a big company.
