What is the primary focus of Netbuilders.com?
Our mission is to help small business owners, specifically in Florida get new customers via the Internet. Consumers (shoppers) are using the Internet more than their local newspaper to find the products and services they need. But a small business owner does not have the time to create an effective website, run pay per click ads, and update the site.
Please give us a short summary of your website, business model, etc
We provide two basic kinds of services - both designed to make it easy for a small business owner to get found online. First, we give them information so they understand that if they are not getting new customers through the Internet they are missing a substantial amount of business (that varies by industry).
Second, we create sites that small business owners can use to promote their Florida business. An example would be Stuart Florida , where the economy is primarily powered by local business - there is very little big industry.
What the biggest challents in getting small business owners online?
Time. If you own a small business you know that you already have 10 jobs. Most of these small business owners want to be online they just have to prioritize and things like inventory, customer service, paying bills, taxes, and payroll must get done.
Do you currently cover the entire state of Florida with your Internet Marketing services?
Not yet. We launched our services in our primary location, which is the treasure coast that includes Stuart Florida, Palm City FL, Jensen Beach, and Port St Lucie. After a small test period we will quickly expand across the state of Florida.
What is the biggest mistake that small business owners make on the Internet.
The most common mistake that business owners make is to hire a local developer and have a website built with no concern or focus on how the site will be updated and how search engines will find it.
Most small business websites have their company name as the title of every page and no chance of people every finding them through search engines.
So do you discourage small business owners from creating a website.
We don't discourage it but we labor to explain what it will take to make a small business website useful. That way the business owner can make an informed decision. Our hope is that when a business owners goes to create their website we have given them all the information to select someone who can build it so it will be found for the product or service they are selling.
Why are you focused on Florida?
Every business should select a niche and focus on it. We are from Florida. After spending 10 years in Silicon Valley we returned to Florida and move the company back. Our experience in Silicon Valley gives us a unique advantage that we want to share with other business owners looking to use the Internet to market their Florida business.
Do you build websites for customers?
No. But we are starting a program to build a list of qualified web developers that we will recommend. By qualified we mean developers that build site that can be easily updated, and are properly architected for both people and search engines.
What are your views on Search Engine Optimization (SEO)?
For us Search Engine Optimization means creating a site that a search engine can easily read and determine the focus of. If you have great content, build your pages properly, and do some basic promotion your site will do well.
