Please give us a short summary of your website?
This is the website for an internet enterprise targeted at delivering video hosting services for business users.
What inspired you to launch your own website?
It is a commercial enterprise. It has been planned as such initially and launched as such from the beginning.
When did you launch your first website, and what was it?
I had my first own website back in 2002 it was a personal website.
How did you decide on a name for your website?
We had a brainstorming session with the others partners and decided on the name.
What makes your website different from other, similar offerings?
It's conceptually different in terms of client targeting and service capabilities. We're competing with some financially very strong companies to a good success so far.
What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)
Initially to grow. Later it depends on the market. If good partners are found anything can happen. Success drives success you know, So we're working on it.
How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?
Not enough success so far. The projections for the future are good though.
If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?
A lot of changes actually. There are things that are only achievable with the appropriate amount of money and when you don't have the budget you have to cut deep. Good planning is essential to manage any business under tight budget.
If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?
Well actually this is quite possible scenario we're working for and we've planned a lot of the growth requirements ahead and made quite a few preparations about it. However when it happens there will have changes to be made really quick.
What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?
Mainly the human factor in development. It's expensive and there are many things you can't buy with just money and time.
What has been your biggest challenge?
Marketing the service has been the greatest of challenges. We've had several redesigns of our site and many editions of the information on it to make it easier. More changes will come shortly.
What method has been most successful for promoting your website?
Internet representation alone is the most regarded. Paid advertisement has not been successful. Search engines bring most of our clients to us.
How has running your website differed from your expectations?
Despite the huge demand for similar service and the good feedback for ours people just fail to see the solution, unless they see someone else using it. It takes a lot of time to convince people there is place for such solution.
How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?
2 years so far. The business is going well so the site will have to change at some point for sure.
Is it possible to compete with huge free web video services?
Well it certainly is. We've been doing it for a while and there are many good reasons for business clients not to use such services. Service quality and advertisement free publishing being some of the most important, but there are many others.
