Trackback Spider is another program I don't like for many reasons. To start with: - I think it operators poorly
- It's sole purpose is to "spam"
- You have to hide
- The results are exceptionally poor
Although this program is designed to spam blog's track back systems I was hoping that maybe I could find some useful side effects. Unfortunately, you can't export any of the data so you can't make use of the sites it finds to make relevant comments to track backs. I did receive an email saying there are some import export functions now, but I canceled my subscription (the program runs $97 per month).
It is recommeneded that you use a proxy system to hide yourself when using the program. That is a good sign that you are venturing into a never never land. If you have to hide during your promotion... maybe you shouldn't be promoting your site...
The proxy slows things down a bit, but I find that trackback spider is extremely slow. The page analysis seems to take an excessive amount of time.
The program operates in two stages first to locate relevant blogs to send a trackback to. In my two days of playing, the program never succesfully posted a track back.
It did however, post two stupid comments. One of the two blogs were relevant and if I could have manually posted a relevant comment I would have accomplished something useful. The comments that were posted screamed "Idiot spammer".
When searching out blogs trackback spider will submit searches to Google, Msn, and Yahoo with the phrase you enter combined with one of these:
"URL for this entry"
"The URL for this post is"
"specific URI for this entry"
"the URI for this entry"
The results are then analyzed to see if a trackback can be posted (apparently if that fails a comment is posted).
The second part of the program posts the trackbacks to the url's located on the first phase. After the posts are completed you can have to verify whether it was successful or not. I got many big red X's.
I believe I can produce much better promotional results by simply searching out interesting, related blogs and making my comments or trackbacks the official way.... and with a relevant, related post without hiding.
In the long run, I believe that quality will surpass quantity anyday.
No trackbacks.

Is this the Newest Version ( recently released) or the older one?As far as 'not hiding' and 'not spamming' and all the other unimportant things you mentioned... IF using the new trackback spider meant the difference between making few hundred a month on a site, or a few thousand a month on a site.... gimme a break!
Does your misplaced and petty loyalty fill your belly with food and wine? NO sir, only the fiat paper the government illegally prints does so..... OR SO IT SEEMS ; )

Comment #2 It was the version I purchased a few days before June 25th. IF using the new trackback spider meant the difference between making few hundred a month on a site, or a few thousand a month on a site.... gimme a break!
What IF you could make that difference not hiding, not being frustrated with a slow and convoluted program and doing something productive (vs spamming) you should and would.
Not only that you can. But you need to exercise your brain a little more than that $97 a month will get you.
I see it as a poorly functioning product to perform a questionable action (why do you need to "hide").
Maybe if the program was slick, speedy and did what it is supposed to effectively I'd have had a different view.
Maybe the "new" version does. But it doesn't matter, they lost me with the torture of whatever version I bought.
