Name of your website?

Prominent Web Design

Your name?

John

Your Location (city, etc)

Scottsdale

I offer affordable, professional web design services and SEO consulting. All of my website HTML pass W3C markup validation.

What inspired you to launch your own website?

I saw the need for an affordable alternative in professional web design and search engine optimization services from both individuals and small businesses who had limited financial resources.

When did you launch your first website, and what was it?

I officially launched my website in January of 2004.

How did you decide on a name for your website?

I wanted a name which captured what I felt my designs represented, as well as a name that was easy to remember.

What makes it different from other, similar offerings?

First, my services are truly affordable, charging significantly less than many others.

Second, I don't use templates. I custom design all of my projects.

Last, all of our sites are HTML error free and cross-browser compatible.

What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)

My goal is to continue growing my client base of very satisfied customers.

How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?

My investment of time and money goes hand in hand with my success. You need to invest time and money in any business if you expect to have any possibility of success.

If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?

I wouldn't change a thing. I don't want to become the "next big thing." Larger companies cost more (in overhead) to run, which gets passed on to the customers. That would defeat the purpose of what I am doing which is to provide an affordable alternative to those wanting a professionally designed web site and search engine optimization services.

If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?

I enjoy a steady stream of business. If demand increased significantly in a short period of time, I would be up front with prospective clients in terms of availability of our services and increased turnaround time.

What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?

I really haven't had any "unexpected" costs or headaches. I "expect" that not all clients are as forthcoming in providing files (images, etc.) necessary to complete their projects in a timely manner.

What has been your biggest challenge?

I love what I do and there isn't anything that stands out as a huge challenge.

What method has been most successful for promoting your website?

That would be a split between search engine results and word of mouth.

How has running your website differed from your expectations?

It really hasn't. Running the website is just a part of what I do.

How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?

The site itself has been running for about 4 years, but I did freelance design work prior to this.

What is your website address?
