If you find yourself with the urge to find the latest backdoor to the search engines maybe you should line up with the sheep ready for slaughter first. You'll have more SEO success that way.

You might buy all the overpriced, "limited supply", ebooks that will give you all the SEO secrets you could possible want. Though many of them might get your sites banned from the search engines you might get a brief burst of activity. For example, see my Review of Project Black Mask

You might scour all the forums and blogs trying to get a glimpse into the backdoor. Hoping someone has opened the backdoor for you if even just a crack so you can peek in.

You mind will be twisted into a pretzel of nonsense trying to digest the wrong information, disinformation and maybe a tidbit or two of useful information. How will you know is which?

I just discovered a secret backdoor, white hat technique that is go effective I can have my websites indexed within seconds on every main search engine and ranked at the very top for all of my keywords. Now if that were true for me or anyone else, would we be writing about it on a blog, forum, or writing an ebook?

The key of course is to read all the forums, websites and blogs with a sketipcal eye and keep your money in your wallet when it comes to ebooks. Ignore everyone with an obssesion over "PR".

What you do need to do is obsess over you log files. Obsses over the links to your website that generate traffic. Obsess over the keywords in the search engines that are actually bringing you relevant traffic. Obsess over what methods are bring you traffic that turns into money for you.

Obsess over how to best take each hit to your website and turn it into money.

Obsess over what techniques you have used that are effective in the above. Do more of the ones that work and less of the ones that don't. Remember what works for you may not be what works for me.

When your obsession turns from others to your own efforts you will no long have any desire to keep a peek in the backroom of any search engine!
