I received what seems to be a standard "form letter" link exchange request spam email from the Benchmark Internet Group. Normally these emails get a big F. Y. as they are usually completely untargeted and make a claim that they "liked my site" which sometimes is a contradiction to the exchange request!

This letter wasn't quite that bad, though it seemed to just cut and paste the website title so its probably a pretty much automated email.

I decided to send a nice email in reply, suggesting that they can submit their site directly to the directory(ies) on our site(s) and even post as a guest writer in our relevant blog(s).

Trackback Spider Review

Trackback Spider is another program I don't like for many reasons. To start with:

• I think it operators poorly
• It's sole purpose is to "spam"
• You have to hide
• The results are exceptionally poor

Although this program is designed to spam blog's track back systems I was hoping that maybe I could find some useful side effects. Unfortunately, you can't export any of the data so you can't make use of the sites it finds to make relevant comments to track backs. I did receive an email saying there are some import export functions now, but I canceled my subscription (the program runs $97 per month).
