Please give us a short summary of your website?
Full service Internet marketing and branding firm. Web 2.0, rich media, product visualization, animation, trade show support and display advertising are some of the services that we offer to top clients.
What inspired you to launch your own website?
Been working at agencies for years, and finally broke off on my own, and already have a strong portfolio of clients. there is much I can bring to small businesses, and have a great passion for what I do.
When did you launch your first website, and what was it?
My first website was a portfolio site, when I was looking for work in the industry.
How did you decide on a name for your website?
Many Internet marketing firms loose track of the fact that the most important aspect of advertising is brand, often getting lost in technology and capabilities. So 'Focus ID' refers to that and that everything we do is about enhancing and building a brand.
What makes your website different from other, similar offerings?
Our hope is to bring the same kind of inspired layouts found in print for years to the web. Good content flow and intuitive interface design will keep people interested in your company and its website. We deliver this for our clients.
What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)
This is my passion. I hope to always be doing it.
How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?
I manage to stay very busy. I also put in many, many hours.
If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?
I build websites, and am very happy with my current site.
If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?
Yes, I have a strong base of freelance talent, and can adapt to changing work flow.
What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?
Projects taking longer than they are supposed to. Freelancers taking longer than they estimated.
What has been your biggest challenge?
Finding a steady base of clients is hard work, but I have been lucky enough to keep work coming in. Reaching out to new clients can be a challenge.
What method has been most successful for promoting your website?
Meeting people in person first, and I have gotten good results from my HMTL newsletter. Word of mouth is where most of business comes from.
How has running your website differed from your expectations?
I transitioned from an agency, and knew pretty much what to expect.
How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?
I have had the site up about a year and a half, but it just went through a major overhaul.
What is your value proposition?
To bring agency level work to small businesses and improve a companies bottom line by strengthening their brand.
