Please give us a short summary of your website?
My blog is about my insights in Internet Marketing, SEO, Entrepreneurship, make money online. I like helping people by giving my opinions and feedback. Since the online marketing industry sometimes is a bit unethical... so I try to give quality and unique information for free without trying to sell anyone for my learning.
What inspired you to launch your own website?
I've always wanted to make a living at home. This was only going to be a personal weblog about myself and what I like to do. Now its more of an online business blog.
When did you launch your first website, and what was it?
I launch this site Feb 2006... I wasn't really serious about it at first and now I'm getting serious traffic from people reading my thoughts and insights.
How did you decide on a name for your website?
Since I'm online/internet marketers. I thought it was a fit to what I'm doing and what I want my readers to experience. Which is my journey as an internet marketer.
What makes it different from other, similar offerings?
I like to have my own opinion on what's happening online and I like to give credit to those who are making a lot of noise in the industry by recommending those who give unique content so that my readers can learn from them too.
What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)
I would like to have advertisements on my blog, may it be banners and text link ads so that I can monetize my work.
I'm aiming to earn $10k US per month.
How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?
Right now, I'm sowing the seed so that I can reap the benefits later. I really would like to earn a lot more but its still a fairly new blog. Once I get more targetted traffic that will eventually balance out.
If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?
I would like to have a make over of my blog, get a new design to make more professional and maybe pay someone to make it more SEO friendly.
If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?
I think I can keep up with the demand... I'll just have to transfer to a better webhost.
What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?
I guess the only costs that I've had is the hosting and everything else was done by me, that's where I saved money. When I upgrade my blog to a better platform that's when I start spending my money... that's still later on though.
What has been your biggest challenge?
Getting targetted traffic to advertise on my site. Earning a consistant income as well.
What method has been most successful for promoting your website?
Social Networking and Socialbookmarking has brought the most traffic to my blog. More than the actual search engines.
How has running your website differed from your expectations?
I wasn't really getting much traffic at first due to the fact that I was just writing that's irrelevant to the Search Engines. Once I started putting unique/quality contents, that's when my traffic started taking off.
How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?
Its been up for almost 2 years now. It was only like my personal blog before... now I like to give my insights on Online Marketing and Entrepreneurship.
What is your ultimate goal with your site/blog?
My ultimate goal is to provide income for my family and help others that struggled like me... I've got little boy on the way and my dream is to see him grow up by staying home and helping my wife raise him.
