Ten years ago, if you had a funny article on the internet, you could become an overnight celebrity online. If you had a great song, flash video game or something interactive, you would hit it that much bigger. Technology is different today, and even the brightest writers I know stand a near-zero risk of getting famous. Video, however, can still make you an overnight success.There's a whole page on Wikipedia of YouTube celebrities who have earned serious fame outside of the internet world, and it still isn't too late to get in the action. If you're not doing video, now may be the time. You don't have to be brilliant, but you do have to try. You can't predict the next big thing, but the future of the web is video, and the future is already here. You can't fight it, but it's so easy to embrace it, you should try. If you don't make your own videos, YouTube allows you to embed them into your site anyhow. Tags: video • internet celebrities •
