Wordpress: Beware The Sponsored Link Theme - Do You Know Where Your PageRank Is Going? The author of that blog post complains about the paid links being put into some "free" wordpress themes. The unsuspect blogger downloads a theme and then starts promoting some crappy websites. I have a couple problems with this post. First, the obsession over Google PR. That is not the issue here. The issue here, and the only issue here is the ignorant of the bloggers using those templates. They be more learned to understand everyone they are linking to from their website, why and more importantly how to control the links. Tags: paid links • wordpress • 0 Comments. - Permalink |

The Most Ignored But Critical Aspects OF SEO Marketing highlights a few important things: - How Powerful Are Your Headlines?
- How Engrossing, Valuable And Useful Is You Content?
- Do You Harvest Opt-In Email Addresses From You Traffic? ... By harvesting email addresses of people that you can email on a frequent basis informing them of the latest developments and new posts at your site, you will be well on your way to sustaining and growing traffic figures to your site. Well, I think they ruined two good ideas with the. The result is almost always SPAM SPAM SPAM. Piss off your customers by sending them crappy email.
I say write a blog instead of emailing crap so people can stay up to date on their terms. Tags: seo tips • spam • 0 Comments. - Permalink |

This forum post will report on progress using vBSEO some kind of SEO script for bulletin boards. Now this forum thread seems to have everything checking some external statistics about their site and apparently they will sit on the edge of their chairs everyday seeing how good things go. Now, the first problem with this is that SEO is not a question of what happens with your website tomorrow, but how it will perform over the next 10 or 20 years! Secondly, the only valid measurement of your website is not how many links are in good, a 1-10 rating Google or some other website gives you (based mostly on nofollowed links). The only valid measurement is how much money you earn (profitAll other values are completely bogus. Will vBSEO work? Who knows. Tags: seo • vbseo • 0 Comments. - Permalink |

In the [404 Check: was link to http:/ / www. makemoney4nothing. com/ Blog/ 182/ internet -marketing -resource -google -pagerank -slap/ , anchor: Make money for Nothing] blog, they bitch about some kind a "Google PR slap".They even go so far as to as to declare that there will be "no debate as to whether pagerank matters"! The jist of their blog is that some sites lost a point of Google PR and that is it now harder to attain higher PR points. Now what is missing from their post is anything about traffic or money (now, in a blog named -- money for nothing -- there might oughta be a bit of discussion on that topic! Now I think there are several ways you measure the "success" of a website: - Google PR
- Revenue
- Profit
- Web Taffic
Now in the case of Google PR you are trying to distill your website into a single digit and your mood follows that digit up and down. It does nothing directly for your bank balance! Now, measuring revenue is stupid, as your website might be bringing in a million bucks a month, but your spending ten million on pay per click! Uh oh! Profit, how much you stuff in your wallet after your expenses! Now that would be a prfound method of measuring success. As the Money for Nothing Blog cries over a lost point of PR they make no indication how the profitablity of those sites are doing. Now if the profit is going down, that's a call to action [and it doesn't matter if the PR changed up, down or not at all]. Now if the profit is going up, your on the right track, even if your PR is dropping! Web traffic can be tricky too. If your getting lots of relevant web traffic and your profit is low, you need to look at why you are not converting well. If your relevant traffic is steady or increases, your mood droping over a drop in PR means you need to check into the psych ward. It's all about money and not PR Tags: google pr • web profits • 0 Comments. - Permalink |

Many people use the nofollow tag in the a href tag to in hopes of linking to a site without giving out search engine "juice". This concept of course distorts the web as it is an option to "link" without "linking". My view is that it is a bad idea for any purpose. It is a lazy mans way to avoid "comment" spam and is completely ineffective as well. Many use a firefox plug in that highlights link anchor text when it has the nofollow tag attached. That means seeing the nofollow links easy when surfing. Just surf and you see them. You can tell who is trying to game the system with nofollow. But some are sneaker. They use a silent all inclusive nofollow tag for the enter web page rather than individual links and the firefox plugin doesn't highlight anything. Now, I can't stand Technorati, but they get a regular link as I don't do nofollows this blog. Now if you examine the links there they are are normal. Nope, to the contrary they all are nofollowed. Technorati sneaks in a global nofollow for all links on the page: Tags: technorati • nofollow • 0 Comments. - Permalink |
