We hide online all of the time, in fact, so much so that many consider the world wide web as being perceived as precisely such.

Our personal world is simply held differently and separately, as it is in tradition. When it is that we are online, however, one can be whoever it is that one may want to be, and do whatever it is that one may feel like doing, but this would be to some limited extent or another.

While it may be that there are very many strangers who can easily check out the profiles of each person on a social networking site, strangers who are seen across the street may remain as such, and cannot see our online profiles.
