What inspired you to launch your own website?
It was my own iterest in having a personal website. i explored more and more day by day. I learnt that the website is a medium which has no limits in its reach to audience. It can be reached to whole world. Therefore, I decided to own a website to maintain my own blog. But after few months, I started the hosting ad designing solutions.
When did you launch your first website, and what was it?
I launched my first website in 2005 when I was in my college. I simply explored and learnt more from Geocities, a hosting and free online designing services provided by Yahoo!. I created my own website introducing myself. Later I created a website for my club.
How did you decide on a name for your website?
I decided on the name of my present website thinking primarily on web and graphic design. The first part of the name, BHUTAN describes the location and place of resdence which I am very proud of. The second part, DESIGNS reflects the very purpose of the website. Hence, the name BHUTAN DESIGNS
What makes your website different from other, similar offerings?
My website offers great online tools for interested and potential clients. I offe them the domain name search tool. They can order their design and hosting services online instantly. They can also refer my past works which they may judge my expertise. Lastly, they will own a small intorduction page about their website and company when they become full client of Bhutan Designs which help in propagating their businesses.
What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)
To update regularly and keep for businesses.
How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?
It is a good income when i compare the amount of time I spent on these services. I am well experienced in this field which I see any project as an opportunity to develop further on my previous skills.
If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?
I would try to offer the best choice and state-of-the-art technology for my client.
If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?
Yes, I am prepared to keep upto the demand of the visitors.
What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?
At times, some clients just fail to do their payment upon completion of their project. Some order their domain without advance payment and it delays and creates lots of hurdles for future projects.
What has been your biggest challenge?
Always learning and aiming for best!
What method has been most successful for promoting your website?
The most successful method of promoting one's website is through free social book marks and social blog websites. You don't need to really invest with huge budget to get your website popularized.
How has running your website differed from your expectations?
It is unexpectedly smooth and dyanmic in its functioning.
How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?
I have been running it for 3 years. I hope to keep it running.
