Oh the irony of life. It was only yesterday I wrote on the other blog how much I am enjoying the game apps of Facebook. And now I'm here seeking help about my Facebook account.
I logged off last night the way I normally do. You know, a simple click on the log out link. But then I realized I need to plant more crops on my Country Story farm so I can harvest it in the morning. But when I tried to log back, Facebook is giving me this error: Incorrect Email/Password Combination.
I tried more than a hundred times logging in using the same e-mail and password I used a couple of minutes ago to no avail. It was very frustrating. I tried resetting my password but the same error occurs. It's like someone went on my account and changed my e-mail, a case of hack, though it came to me that it isn't the problem.
I tried to create a new account with a completely different e-mail. I searched for my old account through the old email and there it was. It's not deactivated, it still has the same email and the only problem is that I can't log on it. I know I did not changed my password and if that is actually the case, if my password has changed, a password reset process would allow me to receive it on my email. But no, Facebook keeps on giving me Incorrect Email/Password Combination both on the log-in and on the password reset.
What puzzles me even more is when I tried to create a new Facebook account using the email my old account is using. I was shocked when I successfully created a new account using an e-mail my old account is already using.
Now when I do a profile search using a single email, two accounts appear. Wicked. It's some kind of a Facebook bug I guess. I already sent an email to the Facebook support team and I'm hoping to receive a reply from them.
It's more like a bug or a glitch in their system, and although I have created a new account, it still upsets me because it's not fun having two accounts being searched in a single email. Adding new friends is also a pain. The though of redoing my farm on the games I used to play pains me even more.
I left Friendster and MySpace for almost the reasons, and dear God please don't make me leave Facebook for the reason mentioned, now that I'm actually starting to enjoy it.
I also am having this problem. I'm calming down by knowing that various people are having this problem, and it should be addressed soon. They cannot possibly leave us behind.A few notable things:
- I do not think this is a case of our accounts being hacked.
- Before this happened was anyone else asked to "confirm their email address" repeatedly on the facebook home screen? And if you indeed did confirm, was there an error telling you that you have input an invalid email address? If so, I think we may have found the culprit.
- Someone with my exact name (its not a common name) appeared in my city and is now visible through facebook the very day this went wrong. Which, though farfetch'd causes me to be suspicious. He/she only has 1 friend. Despite this, I do not think our accounts were hacked necessarelly, but it IS fishy. You guys should search up your named and see if you come up with similiar results. I have emailed the facebook team, and am hoping for a response myself.
